In a major breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh police busted two illegal arms manufacturing units operating in Modinagar and Masuri and arrested 26 people from various parts of Ghaziabad district under “Operation Pataal” early this week.
In Masuri, UP police arrested two people and seized a huge cache of firearms, including 29 illegal pistols and live cartridges from a house on Wednesday. The arrested persons have been identified as Anwar and Fajil, both residents of Amroha. According to the police, Anwar had an illegal arms manufacturing unit in Amroha. He was arrested in 2019. However, after being released on bail in 2021, he started the illegal operation again.
