West Bengal Summer Vacations have been extended in all government schools of the state. As per recent orders, all these Bengal schools will now be closed for another 10 days, till June 26, 2022. The WB government has taken this decision due to extreme heatwave-like conditions in the state.
West Bengal Summer Vacations extension orders apply to all government schools – both state-run and state-aided. According to a PTI report, Principal Secretary (Education) Manish Jain said in a notification that the decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of students.
The same report further mentioned that the government’s order read, “With regard to declaring summer vacation in the schools due to extreme heat wave conditions, as reports of a few death cases due to heat and humidity have been received, the competent authority has decided to extend the summer vacation…”
