
Archer Deepika Kumari flattered to deceive in the qualifying round after she finished 37th behind Ankita Bhakat in the World Cup Stage 3 on Wednesday, June 22.Deepika, the World No.3, made her India comeback after her poor show in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She shot 638 in the 72-arrow qualification round, 37 points behind Lee Gahyun of Korea. Gahyun finished on top of the women’s recurve section.
A poor ranking meant that Deepika got a tough draw as she is likely to face Korea’s Choi Misun, who won the gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics in the second round. Deepika is set to lock horns with Chiara Rebagliati in her first round.
