A man in Ahmedabad convicted of killing and dismembering his own son was granted bail by the city sessions court to attend the last rites of his son.
The accused, identified as 65-year-old Nilesh Joshi, a retired Traffic Police Inspector, was arrested last month for allegedly killing his 21-year-old son Swayam, who was addicted to drugs and disposing of the corpse at different places in the city by chopping it into six pieces.
The accused had then requested the Metropolitan court for temporary bail to perform the last rites of his son but was denied considering the horrendous act.
